Description : Cinnamon essential oil is a physical and emotional stimulant, and is warming to the body. It is an anti-depressant and it helps blood circulation. It reduces drowsiness, irritability, and headache pain. It helps concentration, relaxes muscles, and eases pain.
Use : Used for infection of the respiratory tract, rheumatism, arthritis and general pains, calms an exhausted feeling of depression, tones the whole body and stimulates the glandular system, thus easing period pains. Used as part of your dental routine, it can also cleanse the gums, mouth, and maintain clean teeth.
Blends well with : Citruses like Orange and Mandarin, Frankincense, Ylang Ylang, Clove Bud, and Ginger.
Direction:
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.
Precautions : Caution must be exercised since the cinnamaldehyde and eugenol contained in the oil could cause irritation, especially to the mucus membranes, so this oil should be used with care. Due to the emmenagogue action of the oil, it should be avoided in pregnancy High dosages can cause convulsions. The essential oil extracted from cinnamon bark should be avoided in total, as it is considered to be a dermal toxin, irritant and sensitizer.
