Description : Lavender essential oil acts as a sedative and an anti-depressant and can reduce tension and stress. It can be calming or stimulating depending on the body's needs. It relaxes muscles, promotes restful sleep, and balances mood swings. It slows down the development of wrinkles and hastens the healing of skin cells.
Use : Has a soothing and calming effect on the nerves, relieve tension, depression, panic, hysteria and nervous exhaustion in general, effective for headaches, migraines and insomnia, relieve pain from rheumatism, arthritis, lumbago and muscular aches and pains, good for abscesses, acne, oily skin, boils, burns, sunburn, wounds, psoriasis, lice, insect bites, stings and also acts as an insect repellent.
Blend well with : blends well with most oils, but especially Cedarwood, Clary Sage, Pine Needle, Geranium, Vetiver, Patchouli, citruses, and floral oils.
Direction:
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.
Precautions : Although lavender oil is considered one of the safest essential oils, you should discontinue use is you have any allergic reactions.
