Therapeutic properties  :  The therapeutic properties of cedarwood oil are antiseborrhoeic, antiseptic, antispasmodic, tonic, astringent, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, insecticide, sedative and fungicide.

Description : Cedarwood essential oil reduces anxiety and tension. It is calming, and helpful for meditation. It relaxes the muscles, and promotes a restful sleep. It can help combat oily or dry skin, improve skin tone, and soothe inflammation, and is a wonderful addition to skin and hair care regimes.  Additionally it is supportive for a healthy upper respiratory system and a great addition to home cleaning solutions.

Use : Cedarwood oil benefits the skin by its sedating ability which relieves itching. Its astringent action is great for acne, oily skin, as well as for hair and dandruff. It helps with chest and urinary infections, acts as a general tonic and has a pronounced effect on mucus membranes. It is also of value in cases of arthritis and rheumatism.

Blend well with : Bergamot, Cypress, Juniper Berry, Rosemary, Clary Sage, Frankincense, Sandalwood, Vetiver, and florals like Jasmine, Neroli, and Ylang Ylang.

Direction:
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil  in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.

Precautions : In high concentration, cedarwood oil may irritate the skin and it should be avoided in pregnancy.  It is also best to do a skin patch test before using it in a massage blend.
