Description : Citronella essential oil is commonly used to ward off insects. It also has a very calming and uplifting effect on the nervous system and can help ease headaches. Citronella acts as a general tonic for the body, helping to relax the body and combat fatigue. It is often used in skin care products to impart a fresh scent.
Use : Fights depression and gives relief from anxiety, sadness, and negative feelings, relieves spasms of the muscles, respiratory system, and nervous system, drives away body odor, increase sweating and promote the removal of toxins and other unwanted materials like excess water, fat, and salts from the body, keeps away insects.
Blend well with : Geranium, Cedarwood, Lavender, Peppermint, Pine Needle, and most citruses.
Direction:
Oil Burner: Add 4 drops of essential oil for a burning time of 20 minutes.
Massage: Dilute 3-5 drops of essential oil in 10 ml. of carrier oil.
Inhalation: Put 5 drops in 200 ml. of steamed water and inhale for 3-5 minutes.
Bath: Put 15 drops of essential oil in the bath tub for a 20 minutes bath.
Precautions : There is no inherent toxicity in the essential oil, but it has been seen to produce irritation, dermatitis or sensitization in the skin if used in high concentrations. It should not be used on the skin of small children and should be avoided during pregnancy.
